Team Canada Gearing Up for Intense Competition in the 2024 World Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic Qualification Tournament

Team Canada eagerly anticipates its participation in the upcoming 2024 World Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic Qualification Tournament, following a draw on January 15th 2024, conducted by Minister of Sport and MP for Hutt South, Chris Bishop. The draw, conducted at the Beehive, placed Canada in Pool B against Brazil, the Netherlands, and the New Zealand Wheel Blacks.
The event, scheduled to take place from March 20th to 24th, will showcase some of the world’s best wheelchair rugby athletes, including Canada’s own exceptional team.
Head Coach Patrick Cote expressed his thoughts on the upcoming challenge, stating, “It will be a tough competition. Both Pools are very well balanced. We need to expect everyone to be ready for us, especially the Wheel Blacks, who are going to be highly motivated playing in front of their home crowd. We will match that energy.”

About World Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic Qualification Tournament
The tournament will be held from March 20th to 24th, 2024, with training and classification taking place from the 18th to the 19th. The venue will be at the new home of Wellington rugby, the New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport, Trentham, Wellington.
