Domestic Programs Commitee

The Domestic Programs Committee (DPC) was created to guide and influence the development of wheelchair rugby in Canada through a planned and collaborative approach with all partners in the system.

Wheelchair Rugby Canada Athletes Council

The WRC Athletes Council is comprised of members of the Canadian wheelchair rugby community. The primary objective of the council is to act as the collective voice of athletes within WRC, ensuring that the athlete perspective is heard and actively considered in the WRC Board of Directors and WRC CEO decision making process.

WRC Gender Equity Inclusion Diversity and Reconciliation Working Group

The purpose of the WRC Gender Equity Inclusion Diversity and Reconciliation (GEIDR) Working Group is to bring together members of the community with diverse perspectives and lived experience to ensure a safe and equitable environment for all.

Finance Committee

The Audit & Finance Committee of Wheelchair Rugby Canada is comprised of designated directors. Its primary purpose is to assist the Board of Directors by overseeing the organization’s internal accounting controls, financial systems, legal compliance regarding financial disclosures, risk management, and the performance of the independent auditor. The committee ensures the integrity and quality of financial reporting and the organization’s adherence to regulatory requirements.

Human Resources Committee

The Human Resources Committee of Wheelchair Rugby Canada advises the Board of Directors on effective HR processes and develops appropriate HR policies. Its primary purpose is to ensure the organization has sound HR practices, including policy development, risk management, and employee evaluation, to support and enhance the workforce.

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee of Wheelchair Rugby Canada advises the Board of Directors on strategic planning, governance structures, and governing documents. Its primary purpose is to ensure effective governance by developing policies, monitoring compliance, and conducting board assessments.

Nominations Committee

The Nominations Committee of Wheelchair Rugby Canada identifies, vets, and nominates qualified candidates for election to the Board of Directors and Standing Committees. Its primary purpose is to ensure the board and committees have members with the necessary skills and qualities to fill vacancies and support leadership succession.
