CANADA TO PLAY IN POOL B AT THE WORLD WHEELCHAIR RUGBY CHALLENGE 2019

May 30, 2019Canada has been placed in Pool B, along with Australia, USA, and New Zealand at the World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge 2019, which will be held in October at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

CANADA TO PLAY IN POOL B AT THE WORLD WHEELCHAIR RUGBY CHALLENGE 2019

Canada has been placed in Pool B, along with Australia, USA, and New Zealand at the World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge 2019, which will be held in October at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. The team groupings and competition schedule were announced on Tuesday morning.

The eight-team tournament will be held Oct. 16-20 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium and will serve as a Test Event for next year’s Paralympic Summer Games.

In Pool A, current world champions Japan will play against Great Britain, France, and Brazil.

The pool winners will play the runners-up from the opposite pool on Oct. 19, with the gold and bronze medal matches set for Sunday, Oct. 20.

Canada’s team roster for the WWRC 2019 will be announced at a later date.
