Wheelchair Rugby Canada is proud to announce the roster for the Canada Development Team competing at Rugbymania 2025, taking place November 13–15 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Rugbymania, hosted by the Prague Robots, has brought together teams from around the world since 1998. The 2025 edition will feature 16 teams representing countries such as Australia, England, Italy, and Switzerland, divided across two competitive divisions. This year, both Canada Development and the Northern Lights (Canada’s Women’s Development Team) will compete in Division 2, gaining valuable international experience and exposure as part of the next generation of Canadian wheelchair rugby athletes.
“There are lots of new faces on this roster, which is exciting for Wheelchair Rugby Canada,” said Head Coach Trevor Hirschfield. “Seeing the next generation of athletes take their place on the international stage is valuable for the growth of our program. This will be a great opportunity for our newer athletes to get some experience and test themselves against great competition.”
With a mix of returning players and emerging talent, the Canada Development Team will use this opportunity to build chemistry, refine team skills, and gain critical experience in a competitive international environment. For many athletes, this marks their first appearance representing Canada on the international stage.
