Wheelchair Rugby Canada is pleased to invite Provincial Sport Organizations, clubs, and organizing committees to submit bids to host the 2029, 2030, and 2031 Wheelchair Rugby National Championships.

As the premier domestic wheelchair rugby competition in Canada, the National Championships bring together the country’s top athletes for a weekend of high-level competition while creating opportunities to grow the sport, engage local communities, and showcase inclusive sport on a national stage.

Hosting the National Championships is an opportunity to:

• Showcase your community and local wheelchair rugby program
• Engage volunteers, partners, and spectators in a nationally sanctioned event
• Build relationships with local sponsors and community organizations
• Leave a lasting legacy for wheelchair rugby in your region

Wheelchair Rugby Canada works closely with the successful Host Organization throughout the planning process, providing guidance and support to help deliver a successful championship. In addition, the selected host will receive a $25,000 hosting grant to assist with event delivery.

The bid package outlines the hosting requirements, roles and responsibilities, timelines, minimum venue standards, and application process. While applicants are encouraged to complete the bid package as thoroughly as possible, we understand that some details may not yet be finalized. The bid is intended to demonstrate your community’s ability to host a safe, accessible, and high-quality event.

Bid Timeline

• Bid Submission Deadline: Wednesday, September 30, 2026
• Successful Host Notified: No later than Monday, November 2, 2026
